Global Financial Experts is managed by Stuart Murdoch, Dominic O’Kane and David Szmukler. Collectively they have almost 20 years of consulting and testifying experience in complex financial litigation, with highly relevant experience across Europe, North America and Asia. Previously they each held senior investment banking positions.
MD, Co-Head of London Office
Stuart is a consulting and testifying FX expert, who has participated in many FX-related cases. His extensive investment banking career of over 15 years includes experience at Global Investment Banks including JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, BOA Merrill Lynch and Barclays Capital. Stuart traded FX spot and FX forwards in both a market making, and a proprietary capacity. He therefore has a wealth of insight into market behaviours of both FX traders and FX sales people. His understanding of market behaviour, language and practices means that his experience is very relevant to many areas within FX-related litigation. His experience in regulatory scrutiny matters is unparalleled. Stuart has a BA in philosophy from Exeter University.
MD, Co-Head of London Office
Dominic has been a consulting and testifying expert in a number of financial litigation cases. His main focus is on derivative valuation and risk-management. Since 1994, he has worked at Salomon Brothers and Lehman Brothers, where he became an MD and head of quantitative research. He was responsible for all of the valuation models used across the rates, FX, credit and commodities businesses. After leaving Lehman Brothers in 2006, Dominic became a Professor of Finance at the EDHEC Business School, and wrote a leading book on credit derivatives that was published by Wiley Finance. He has a doctorate in theoretical physics from Oxford University and a degree in physics from Imperial College.
MD, Head of New York Office
David has 20 years of experience working in international investment banks including HSBC and TD Securities. He has focused on product development, financial structuring, the sale and execution of complex derivatives, and lending transactions across a range of customers including financial institutions, institutional clients and private banks. At HSBC, David was responsible for the development of risk frameworks, product approval processes and the transaction approval process in connection with the structured credit businesses. At TD Securities, David worked on leverage loan financing as well as synthetic CDOs and CLOs. David has a JD and an MBA from New York University.
General Counsel and COO, London Office
Molly is an experienced solicitor with a background litigating a broad range of English and international commercial disputes. During her 15 years in private practice, she specialised in corporate governance issues; commercial fraud claims; shareholder disputes; FCA/regulatory investigations; corporate transactional claims; partnership disputes, High Court employment disputes; financial services disputes; assisting foreign law firms to obtain evidence in the English jurisdiction; and international arbitration. Molly also spent two years in the in-house commercial litigation team of a well-known family office where she was involved in multi-jurisdictional litigation (both off-shore and in the English High Court and Privy Council). She joined GFE in 2017. Molly read Classics at University College London, where she also won the Platt Prize for Greek.
Head of Communications
Simon is an expert in communications, with a background in investment banking. For over twenty years, he has successfully managed the communication challenges created by complex and high profile issues which have attracted media interest. His extensive career in corporate communications includes heading European media relations for Goldman Sachs, and heading the global communications function for Barclays Capital during the financial crisis and its acquisition of Lehman Brothers. He is able to combine his thorough understanding of the media with his experience of handling complex issues to provide clients with sound advice and execution abilities. He regularly assists clients to manage the communication challenges created by complex litigation, pre-action matters and criminal proceedings. Simon has a BSc (Hons) in Geography from the University of St Andrews.
